Whitebeam has provided cost planning and contract administration services for us over a considerable time. Their expertise and input are precious to our clients and us, both in terms of providing accurate cost plans at the design stage of projects and later, during the tender and build processes. We rely on Dan for his attention to detail and thoroughness, which means that very little goes without scrutiny, all helping to ensure that unexpected problems do not occur during our builds. The role of contract administrator is not an easy one, but Dan administrates and manages all parties to the construction contract fairly and reasonably, via a service that is personable and professional at all times. In this manner, problems are overcome with a can-do approach, final accounts are expertly managed, quality is monitored, and projects are realised in line with client expectations. We would not hesitate to recommend Whitebeams services.

We have engaged Whitebeam on several schemes to prepare Feasibility Costs & Cost Planning Options for a variety of residential projects in the £½m to £1m price range and have been delighted with the work produced. In particular, the presentation detail, understanding of the design concept & recognising & considering reasonable allowances for unspecified items to provide a thorough submission have proved extremely useful. We would be happy to recommend Dan & his team for any similar work.

Whitebeam have given us some great cost planning advice, both to inform design at planning stage and in the detail of tender negotiations.  Always a pleasure to work with and reliable in delivery, Whitebeam are client focused and good people to have on your team.

Having watched programmes like Grand Designs, we were sceptical about whether we really needed a contracts manager on our build as so many people seem to be able to manage a lot of the elements themselves. However, with the benefit of hindsight it was a worthwhile investment. Without Whitebeams help we would have had a significant cost overrun on our build. Dan did a great job of managing all the complexity associated with the contractual elements of the project and ensuring that at every step of the process work was completed as specified.

We worked with Whitebeam on the complete renovation of our Victorian house which involved a rear extension, loft conversion and general refurbishment of the entire house.

Dan initially managed the detailed tender procurement process, through which we chose our preferred builders in line with our budget and required timeframes for the completion of the project. Having helped us choose the right builder, Dan then managed the project through to completion, ensuring that the contract was administered accurately, and amendments/variations were documented clearly and understood by all parties.

Whitebeam did an excellent job of managing the project and ensured the build stayed on track and agreed changes were priced fairly by the builders.  He also helped us come up with technical solutions to various problems to ensure we kept costs to a minimum. Having delivered the build Dan also managed the specification checking, ensuring the build quality was excellent and ensuring an affective and timely snagging process took place to resolve any minor issues.

We’d highly recommend Whitebeam and are certain their involvement helped our renovation in terms of quality, timeframe and cost. In addition, Dan was friendly and great to work with which promoted good working relations with us, our architects and the builders.

We were very pleased with the service received from Whitebeam. During our project Dan created the initial cost estimate before we went to tender and ran the contract through to final payment sign off.  Throughout the project Whitebeam were professional and paid excellent attention to detail, without which we would have found it hard to remain within budget and finish on time. Regular meetings kept track of variations, the programme plan and checked specifications & quality of work and gave us peace of mind.

Dan was engaged to look after the tender procurement & contract administration for my extensive home remodelling & two storey extension, over a 12-month period. He helped form a good working relationship with the Contractor whilst ensuring the build ran to programme and costs were controlled. I am very pleased with his proactive approach, all-round professionalism and the result achieved, and would not hesitate recommending Dan for similar projects.

Having Whitebeam on the team was one of the best decisions we made for our project. Having someone we knew we could trust and who was looking at things from our perspective was invaluable, and the fact that everything ran so smoothly was in no small part thanks to Dan! He took care of all the contract stuff, was detailed and meticulous, and easy and friendly to work with. Behind every smooth-running building project there’s a Dan Holloway!

Nick Parker - Goring, Oxford

Whitebeam arranged detailed tenders & put the contract in place for my new 2 bedroomed cottage. They then managed the project from start to finish, making sure the finances & programme were on track, specification & quality maintained, dealt with the few variations encountered & helped through the snagging stage. I got on extremely well with both Dan & the Contractor employed and was impressed with both the service provided & the end result. I would recommend Whitebeam to anyone seeking a Project Manager.
